2017 is a 1 Water Year.
2018, is a 9 Fire Year.
2016 was a 2 Earth Year.
In this ancient system every year cycles like the seasons, as well as the years cycle in the same way.
The 1 Water year cycles every 9 years and this year has certainly been a year of the force of water. Water is a powerful element, manifesting in so many ways, supporting life on the planet. There is so many manifestations of the Water element. Our lakes, streams, the weather, all precipitation and the roar of the raging sea. Water is enduring and can wear away the surface of rocks and shorelines. This year has proven to be a water year in more ways than one. Water represents power and much of the activity is happening way below the surface.
This year has revealed many hidden, below the surface occurrences that a Water year is always good at doing. Anything that is hidden tends to be revealed, exposed, and floats rapidly to the surface to be dealt with. Never a dull moment in a Water year. The 2 Earth year before represented the need for people to let go of old relationships and with dealings that did not serve them. It was about old hurts, and having to deal with situations and people in general. The election happened in a 2 Earth year, all about “the Story” of the day, and unfortunately about taking sides, and fighting fits in with the nature of the 2 Earth year.
So now that all the water is stirring up the mud that had settled to the bottom, we have the chance to make a clearer assessment of what is REALLY happening.
Next year is a Fire year, and all that is drudged up in the Water year is illuminated and has to be dealt with. Next year the nature of Fire is to light and heat things up, create sparks, promote change. Fire burns until it is exhausted. Fire can be purifying in some cases and can represent the need for people to be In tune with their beliefs and faith. Examining what do they believe in and want to fight for. It is a year where people will take a stand for what they believe is right. Often big events happen in a 9 Fire year, calling on resolve and action. I have watched these cycles for years and find that if people are open to growth and change, there is a lot of healing to be had.
